Hornos

Posted on December 5, 2013

It is a winter white morning. Things are dark outside and I can just see a trace of snow. My phone lights up with a text message letting me know that school/work will be delayed until 10. Great! There is time for a bit of exercise and maybe some painting before I have to be at work.

I have been thinking about starting a Plein Air festival in Taos for the last couple of days. I don’t know if that form of painting is very popular these days. I should probably get out and talk to some painters.

In any case I wanted to paint but didn’t want to sit next to the cold windows. So, today I am painting from a photo taken during the Summer. The two hornos are out in front of the Martinez Hacienda.
