New Mexico was blessed with a great conference that visited this September. Founded in the Netherlands in 1990, ISEA International (formerly Inter-Society for the Electronic Arts) is an international non-profit organization fostering interdisciplinary academic discourse and exchange among culturally diverse organizations and individuals working with art, science and technology.
They held the symposium in Albuquerque, but included events in Santa Fe and Taos. Taos had several things going on that day. One event was a show at UNM Taos. I was invited to include a piece in the show. It was a great opportunity.
The theme of the show was Machine Wilderness and reflected the harsh landscape of our part of New Mexico. The artists included in the show seemed to focus on the landscape. Many of the pieces included elements pulled directly from the land.
Here is a bit of video. I took a bit of time to document the banner in the atrium space.
