Spent a little time sketching in the afternoon. It was a dark day and I decided to just paint something. I had done some dishes and they looked very nice sitting there drying. Almost everything was white or a bit off white. I fired up the old Procreate app on the iPad and went to […]
Rose Leon visits
A friend of mine stopped over. Rose Leon is such a calm, sweet, and positive person. Hopefully you get a bit of a sense of that from the drawing. It was a quick thing done on the iPad.
Working with Paper
At the moment I am trying to work out some images that involve paper, patterns, and the figure. Before I invite friends over to model, I should probably work out what I really want to do. This is just an early step in that direction. I am probably going to have to go back into […]
This is just a quick look at a truck that really wowed me while it sat in a parking lot during sunset.
Under a Rug

It was an interesting day for me. As I was doing my usual searching and reading along the internet I came across a few sites and ideas that helped me to cristalize a few questions I have had about making art in Taos. A very good friend with a native background offered “I hope you […]
Pilar in winter
It was a cold and grey day in Pilar but the yellow grasses and red willow branches brightened up the landscape.
This week I wanted to start making time to paint. I don’t usually schedule a time to sit down and make an image. This has probably been a mistake. This image is from a trip to Abiquiú. The view is pretty familiar to people who have driven down Forest Road 151.
iPad Painting: Squash
I have been enjoying painting with my iPad for a while. It is clean, quick and only a little awkward. Things came pretty easy, probably because I have been playing with using a Wacom tablet for a few years. Painting with a finger tip is a bit clumsy but it is nice to have a […]
