Tierra Amarilla Aspens

I am starting a daily painting project. Hopefully I can find time to create a small painting for each day for the next couple of months.

It is an attempt to develop a habit of painting. While I create designs and work with images most days, painting is not a daily event. Now that I have moved into a beautiful studio space, there is an opportunity to make this painting thing happen.

This is from a trip up to Pagosa Springs and Creede, Colorado. The sun is low in the sky and the view was insisting that the car should be pulled over. We are not quite into the height of the fall colors, but there are some amazing subtle colors that come out as warm sun hits the leaves. 5″x7″ oil on canvas board
