Introspection

This oil painting is trying its best to capture slightly contemplative and evocative moment, portraying a Taos woman bathed in warm sunlight, her expression filled with introspection. The sun casts a golden glow on her face, creating rich contrasts of light and shadow that emphasize her features and the texture of her garments. (Well, more shapes than texture.) The stucco wall behind her reflects some of the sun, its rough, earthy texture almost blending with the adobe structures in the background.
